Well considering the 9% Congress, why would anyone pay attention to politicians anymore?  They are all empty suits....including the messiah.

Sadly, I feel the same as Island Dog.  And I am not talking just democrat.  I hold virtually all of congress in contempt.  They do not deserve respect - They have earned none.  They are pathetic egomaniacs that prostituted themselves once they got through the DC beltway.

Don't worry the haters (many of the same people at the DNC) will be at the RNC too, of that you can be sure. There is way too many people to fall into just two groups, and some will always never be satisfied, that's the US, love it or hate it.

Nice response, ID, except for the whole "messiah" thing.  I still don't get the point of that.  You are right that citizens have been repetitively let down with a lack of representation and effective changes in Washington.  Most of them need to stop agreeing to disagree and actually come up with some effective plans to meet the needs of Americans on all fronts.  I applaud those politicians that do serve well and always seek to find the good and reach across the lines to try and get things done.  Unfortunately, the way elections are run in this nation, they need to choose a specific side and try hard to keep their supporters by distinguishing themselves apart from their opponent.  If McCain agrees too much with Obama on some issues, his supporters might roll to that side, and similarly the left could move on over to the right.  I think the latter will be seen more during this election because of the unfortunate neck and neck race for the Democratic nominee hurting the party with a massive split. Bummer.

I agree with ID and Dr. Guy here.  With a 9% approval rating I have to wonder why these idiots keep getting re-elected to office.  What's funny is if you walk down the street and you ask a random person how they thing congress as a whole is doing and they will most likely say that congress is doing awful (supporting the 9% approval rating) but if you ask them how their representatives in congress are doing and surprisingly you'll find that most people are of the opinion that they're doing their jobs.  Well I have news for your folks, all members of congress are to blame for the approval rating they are seeing and as such any one of them up for re-election in November needs to be kicked out of office.  We need to shake things up and remind them who they work for.
